Level 5 Certificate in STAR® Operational Coaching and Management Practitioner for completion of the STAR® Manager Practitioner programme (Modules 1-22)

Who's it for?

This qualification has been developed to support anyone who’s operating at supervisory or management level including up to Senior Management. You may be working in a line, matrix management or leadership role with direct responsibility for the development and performance improvement of colleagues, direct reports or teams.

The STAR Operational Coaching and Management qualification provides you with the knowledge and new skills, which will enable you to adopt and then use coaching-related behaviours as a part of your everyday management style.  Use of these techniques will help you to better engage and motivate direct reports, peers and other colleagues to drive up performance and productivity.

This qualification will also provide you with the knowledge and skills to use these Operational Coaching behaviours in planned, developmental management settings such as 1-2-1s, goal setting and reviews, performance management and succession planning, or in the development of overall team performance as a part of a wider continuous performance improvement approach.

What's the Progression?

This qualification offers learners the chance to progress to further learning in Accredited Internal Coach (Level 5) or Executive Coach (Level 7).

What is STAR® Manager PRACTITIONER?

Notion’s STAR® Manager Practitioner is an award-winning online coaching and management skills training programme developed to improve your capability by enabling you to incorporate coaching-related behaviours into your everyday management style, a skillset that has been shown repeatedly to increase employee engagement, productivity and the performance of teams.

This Level 5 Certificate in STAR Operational Coaching and Management Practitioner includes 22 online modules, most of which are 20-45 minutes long. The two ‘Practitioner’ modules also include a 90-minute live zoom session with 2-3 other learners and your Notion Tutor.

  • The first 10 modules are focused on developing YOU and YOUR management style
  • The second 10 modules are focused on developing your skills to proactively develop and support OTHERS
  • There are also 2 ‘Practitioner’ modules which include live zoom sessions supported by an expert Notion Tutor 
Your journey consists of 10 modules of blended learning content to develop your day-to-day management skills and your ability to coach others, naturally, ‘in the moment’

✦  How to take the challenge out of challenging conversations

✦  How to use a coaching approach to set goals and structure developmental conversations

✦  How to manage 1:1s with team members to ensure that positive progress is being made

During the journey, you'll also have 2 x live 90-minute 'Practitioner' sessions with a Notion tutor

These two additional ‘practitioner’ modules include an online pre-work/review module followed by a ‘live’ 90-minute Action Learning Circle (held via Zoom videoconference) with a Notion Tutor.

These sessions are designed to build your confidence and further embed the learning and application of new skills in the workplace.

You’ll receive written feedback from your tutor which you can reflect upon to further develop your new skills.
