What's the Qualification?

Level 4 Certificate in STAR® Operational Coaching and Management for completion of the STAR^® Manager programme (Modules 1-20)

You will have 12 months to complete the programme from your registration date

Who's it for?

This qualification has been developed to support anyone who’s operating at supervisory or management level (with or without direct line management responsibility) including up to Senior Management. You may be working in a line, matrix management or leadership role with direct responsibility for the development and performance improvement of colleagues, direct reports or teams.

The STAR Operational Coaching and Management qualification provides you with the knowledge and new skills, which will enable you to adopt and then use coaching-related behaviours as a part of your everyday management style. Use of these techniques will help you to better engage and motivate direct reports, peers and other colleagues to drive up performance and productivity.

This qualification will also provide you with the knowledge and skills to use these Operational Coaching behaviours in planned, developmental management settings such as 1-2-1s, goal setting and reviews, performance management and succession planning, or in the development of overall team performance as a part of a wider continuous performance improvement approach.

What's the Progression?

This qualification offers learners the chance to progress to further learning as a Practitioner (Level 5), Internal Coach (Level 5) or Executive Coach (Level 7).

What is STAR® Coach?

Notion’s STAR^® Coach is an award-winning online management skills training programme developed to improve the capability of anyone with line management responsibility for others, by enabling learners to incorporate coaching-related behaviours into their everyday management style, a skillset that has been shown repeatedly to increase employee engagement, productivity and the performance of teams.

The programme can be completed any time, any place, anywhere and on any device… as long as there’s an internet connection. The programme can be started immediately, can be completed it in as little as 3 months and learners can gain an (optional) Level 3 qualification in the process! There’s no onerous paperwork or assessments, and most of the learning can be easily integrated into the working day. If you already have a busy life then fear not, this programme can be completed in bite-sized chunks of just 2 x 30-minute sessions a week. If you have time for a coffee you now have time for a management development programme!

Your journey consists of 10 modules of blended learning content to develop your day-to-day management skills and your ability to coach others, naturally, ‘in the moment’
