How does the program work?
Imagine this: You’re on the sales floor, and a team member approaches with a customer challenge. No sweat!
Thanks to the STAR® Coach program, you can seamlessly slip into coaching mode.
Here’s the playbook:
- Bite-sized online modules: Think of them as coaching power-ups. Each module equips you with a new skill as you learn to apply the powerful STAR® model for coaching in the moment.
- Put it into action: Each module ends with a mini-mission for your next shift. It’s like a test drive for your new coaching skills.
- Reflection is key: After each mission, a guided reflection exercise helps you unlock the learning. It’s like reviewing game film to see what worked and how to improve.
- Sharpen your coaching toolkit: Throughout the 10 online modules, you’ll unlock a toolbox of interactive activities, all designed to make learning engaging and memorable.
Think of it like this: The STAR® Coach program is your personal coaching gym. You get short, focused workouts (modules), practice drills (missions), and video analysis (reflection) – all designed to transform you into a confident, in-the-moment coach.
Accessible, anytime, anywhere: Need a refresher on powerful questioning techniques? No problem! The online content is available on any device, so you can learn and practice whenever it fits your busy schedule.
Certification without cramming for exams! The STAR® Coach program is built for busy schedules. Think of it as learning in snack-sized bites. Completing the reflective Learning Logs provides the evidence need for certification!
Got a crazy week with sales targets looming? No sweat. The modular design lets you pick up right where you left off. Just add some extra learning time in slower weeks to stay on track. Focus on results, not rigid schedules. We recommend dedicating two 30-minute chunks per week. That gets you through the program in 10 weeks, with research from the London School of Economics showing that benefits kick in around week four!

Setting aside the 2 x 30-minute sessions a week as recommended, STAR® Coach takes up to 3 months to complete. STAR® Manager takes up to 6 months.
The programme can be completed any time, any place, anywhere and on any device… as long as there’s an internet connection learners can access the programme.
STAR® Coach is for all leaders, managers or aspiring managers at any level. STAR® Manager is for anyone who has direct line management responsibility for others.
Both programme options work for all levels of managers across all sectors. We say this with confidence as this was the robust outcome from the academic study, completed on behalf of the UK Government and was independently evaluated by the London School of Economics. The data proved that the programmes had a positive effect for the learners, from aspiring managers all the way up to C-suite levels.
Learners will be able to put into practice the new skills learned in the programme as soon as they’ve completed the first module.
The STAR® programme has several built-in methods of capturing success and return on investment.
The results are tracked via the reflections in the online learning log, and the success trackers. Learners are encouraged to complete these at the end of every module.
Stakeholders will be provided with monthly collated reports which share data as it’s captured. This report will include a tracker of the modules which have been completed, by learner, and key successes that have been recorded.
The Mission Control Team proactively use these trackers to reach out and support individual learners as they work through the programme.
